Welcome to the IRIS Clinical Trial Screening Campus for Healthcare and Research Professionals!

The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke Clinical Research Collaboration (NINDS CRC) is an initiative to ensure that NINDS-sponsored research is available to all patients with neurological disease. Physicians and health care professionals who care for these patients are invited to register with, and participate in NINDS CRC projects. In particular, we are interested in engaging community based facilities to contribute to more efficient recruitment efforts and allow for greater diversity among research subjects.

Clinical Trial Invitation

The NINDS CRC is currently seeking additional investigators for the Insulin Resistance Intervention after Stroke (IRIS) trial, with Dr. Walter Kernan of Yale University serving as the Principal Investigator. The goal of this trial is to determine the effectiveness of pioglitazone in preventing subsequent stroke or TIA. You may be eligible to participate in this trial and enroll patients from your facility.

Participation Consideration

If you would like to be considered for participation as an investigator in the IRIS trial, you may access the questionnaire simply by logging in or registering into the campus. If you are already a member of the International Electronic Education Network(TM), simply log into the campus and follow any additional instructions after logging into your personal account.

The NINDS CRC Operations Center staff is available to assist both experienced researchers and those new to research in completing introductory training in clinical research, satisfying regulatory requirements, and submitting review applications to a central Institutional Review Board (IRB) as needed. The staff at the NINDS CRC Operations Center is available should you have questions or require assistance. Please feel free to contact us via email at nindscrc@ninds.nih.gov, or via telephone at 1-800-305-7811, Monday through Friday between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm ET.

Please try to avoid multiple registrations as this will delay your program status!

If you are unsure whether you are a registered user, please try to login using your e-mail address. If you are already registered for any other campus, the system will recognize you and can send you an auto generated new password should you have forgotten it. You will receive more detailed instructions once you have logged into to the campus.
